WHO AM I?

My name is Vivi Tran and I am currently a senior at Roswell High School. I have been playing the viola for 7 years and I am a self-taught pianist. This project interests me because it helps further my passion for music while serving as a fun pastime throughout this stressful year. I am hoping to gain a better understanding of music after this project and to inspire others to do the same.

PURPOSE

My goal is to take my audience through my journey of learning how to play an instrument in less than a year and inspire them to take some time aside to learn how to play an instrument themselves. Many people underestimate the power of music and I want to prove that building an interest in music is not the most difficult task in the world.

FINAL PRODUCT

This spring, I will show a video recording of me playing a complicated music piece on the violin (as chosen by my orchestra teacher based on her opinion of my abilities at the time). This recording will demonstrate how much I improved on technique, tuning, and bowing throughout the course of the year through my performance of the piece in the video.
